A pairing of two documentaries from the food and restaurant world:
Kakehashi: A Portrait of Chef Nobuo Fukuda directed by Andrew Gooi
Chef Nobuo Fukuda grew up with a desire to bridge the gap between his native Japan and the rest of the world, to become, in the words of his father, "Kakehashi." Nobuo faced incredible challenges to pursue this destiny: leaving his family in Japan and immigrating to the United States, rising from a dishwasher at Benihana to James Beard Award winning chef, innovating a cuisine that connects Japan to the rest of the world.

The Last Blintz directed by Dori Bernstein
Synopsls: The closing of the The Cafe Edison (aka The Polish Tea Room), the Broadway diner immortalized in Neil Simon's 45 Seconds from Broadway, is not just a story about another famous show business haunt shutting its doors, it is the fading away of a piece of an America past.
